The Kingston Book Festival gets going in March with a slew of events. Among them are A Literary Lunch, Love Affair with Literature and the Kingston Book Fair. These events look like they'll be fun and certainly a good place to grab a book. Check out the flyers here as well as the KBF Facebook page for more information.
On March 10, 2016, author Olive Senior will launch her latest book "The Pain Tree". The book is a collection of stories set in Jamaica and is Ms. Senior's fifth work of fiction. An earlier collection "Summer Lightning" won the Commonwealth Writers Prize in 1987. She is also a noted poet, a writer of impressive non-fiction works including Dying to Better Themselves: West Indians and the Building of the Panama Canal, and an author of illustrated children's books.
The launch takes place at the Undercroft at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus at 630 pm.
